A 19-year-old woman from Zambia has given birth to female twins conjoined at the chest and facing each other.
The special delivery took place at KITWE Central Hospital, which reportedly recorded its first ever case of Siamese twins.
According to the doctors, the babies are in stable condition, though there is a defect that make them look like they are joined at the heart.

KITWE Central Hospital medical superintendent, Joseph Musowoya, said the girls are sharing one abdomen, liver and umbilical cord. He said:"The female twins are sharing the abdomen, liver, and umbilical cord. Though their hearts are separate, they have a defect that makes it look as if they are also sharing the heart."
He further said the hospital is currently monitoring the twins closely.
Plans are, however, underway to to move the babies to University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka for advanced medical operation.
