At the just concluded Sun Man of the Year Awards which took place on Saturday, February 18, at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, the wife of late Colonel Muhammed Abu Ali, won ‘Post Humous Political Icon of the Year’.
The Late Colonel was Commander, 72 Task Force who died on November 4, 2016 while in action against the Boko Haram sect. The award was presented to his wife and children and was presented by Managing Director of the Sun Newspaper, Eric Osagie and Mike Awoyinfa.
NAIJ.COM Gossip gathered that, aside from the award, Sun newspaper presented the sum of N200, 000 to the family, as governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun added N1 million to the donation.

In the same line, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state, added the sum of N1.5 million, Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu added N1 million on behalf of the Senate. The House of Representatives added N1 million, as Hon Wole Oke, a former member of the House of Representatives added N2.5 million. Another donor added the sum of N1 million.
The day seemed to be a good one for the family of late Abu Ali, as the PDP House caucus stole donated with a donation of of N5 million. However, the APC caucus in the House stole the day with the donation of N6 million among others.
