Did they say she was barren, and that she will never be able to breastfeed? Well, this Chinese woman has not only proven her enemies wrong, but she has also most likely set a new world record by giving birth to cute triplets, twice in seven days. Even her doctor can't believe it.

The said woman, only identified as Chen, reportedly welcomed her son on Tuesday, February 21. Her angelic twin daughters arrived on Tuesday, February 28, seven days later.

According to her doctor, Chen conceived the triplets in August 2016. Her water broke when she was slightly over 30 weeks pregnant, after which she went into labour and was rushed to No.1 People's Hospital of Yichang.

The hospital's head obstetrician said: "After the baby boy was delivered, the mother's contraction suddenly stopped. We decided it was safe for the twin girls to remain in the womb.The mother went into labour again on 27th February and her twin daughters were successfully delivered the next day."

Doctor says the twin girls shared a placenta

Chen, the doctor explains, was expectant with dichorionic triplets, meaning two of the babies shared a placenta and chorion and the other was separate.

Aihua said: "The baby girls had shared a placenta, whereas the boy had his own. This also helps explain why they were born seven days apart, adding that in his 20 years of experience in delivering babies, he had never seen anything like that."

The mother allegedly struggled to get pregnant and had to seek medical assistance. And with the help of fertility treatment, she managed conceive, with triplets.

The twin girls and their brother are currently being observed at the hospital's neonatal care unit.
