- A three-year-old boy spent two days alone at home with his mom's body after she died suddenly from an asthma attack
- The incident happened in 2014, with the boy's grandmother only speaking out about it now
- The boy is now in the care of his grandmother, as he lost his dad too when he was only eight months old
A grandmother has recounted how her grandson, then a three-year-old toddler, spent two days alone at home with his mom's body in 2014 after she died suddenly from an asthma attack. The incident happened in Perth, Scotland.
Speaking to a local Scottish media outlet, Linda Macdonald said her daughter, Lydia Macdonald, died in her bed and left her son, Mason, who was the only other person in the house, alone with her body for two days.
Jodi-Ann, Lydia's best friend, found Lydia clutching her inhaler, indicating that she had tried to save herself from what must have been a huge asthma attack. Jodi-Ann also found young Mason, who reportedly told her, "I can't wake mommy."

Linda said Mason was dehydrated when Jodi-Ann found him, although he had survived for two days by eating cheese left in the fridge.
Still deeply affected by her daughter's death, Linda added: "We were absolutely devastated. The light she brought to every room had gone out. Mason was alone with her. I have no idea what he thought or what he was going through."
Linda now takes care of Mason, whose dad also passed away suddenly when he was only eight months old.
