A man was arraigned at a magistrate's court in Lagos for causing an uproar at a Celestial church, after he attacked the head of the church and destroying properties.
According to reports, a 49-year-old man identified as Abiodun Adeyinka, was arraigned at the Ebute-Meta Chief Magistrate's Court in Lagos, for damaging property worth about N5million, at a branch of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC).
Adeyinka was accused of forcibly entering the CCC building in No. 64, Adekunle Banjo Street, Magodo, causing panic among the worshippers and going ahead to damage church property.

He was accused of spoiling the Jazz musical instrument, a Konga drum, a piano, five wireless microphones, six pieces of altar cloths, assorted church perfumes, wedding gowns and sacred pictures of Mary and Jesus. He was also accused of tearing the garment of the leader of the church.
Adeyinka who is facing a 6-count charge of conspiracy, unlawful assault, breach of peace and malicious damage, pleaded 'not guilty' to all the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Helen Omisore, granted him bail to the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
