The menace of bad and expired drugs in our society is a real challenge and seems to have taken a turn for the worst.
Late Dora Akunyili who was known for her activism against fake and expired drugs while she was the director general of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), especially tried to control the prescription drugs market in Onitsha, but it seems her efforts have gone to waste, as the market seems to be thriving again.
NAIJ.com came across a post shared on Facebook by one Blossom Martins, where some traders were seen repackaging expired drugs and intravenous drips for sale, somewhere in Onitsha, Anambra state.
Here's what she wrote below:
"Happening now ..... PLS KEEP SHARING TO SAVE LIVES! These people are repackaging expired drip and also changing the dates, this is happening now while we all are in church at fegge port harcourt road at Onitsha, I think the public needs to know about this and let the right Authorities take action... Pls keep sharing to save lives....#BMCARES. THIS IS WICKEDNESS.
