- A man from Zimbabwe was ordered to never have coitus out of wedlock again or father any more children
- The reason for the court’s decision was that he had children out of marriage which he couldn’t afford to pay alimony
- The court ordered him to pay $30 (N9.5k) every month until the child reached 18 year of age
Innocent Zhou was ordered by the court to never have intercourse again so he would stop making babies which he couldn’t take care of.
The 38-year-old was also ordered to stay faithful to his wife for multiple reasons, including his health.
Zhou’s 21-year-old ex-girlfriend Revonia Hickey brought the man to court claiming that he owed her $216 (N68.5k) in benefits for their 8-month-old baby.
Magistrate Magate told Innocent Zhou: “Can you please stop going around impregnating women. Can’t you see that it is dangerous for your wife and four children? Can’t you see that you are putting your wife’s life in danger.”
He continued: “If you are poor, you are poor. You have to live within your means. You don’t even have a bank account and you have four children but you are busy making children with other women.”
His ex-girlfriend said that Innocent never paid alimony and that she was dire need of money for diapers, food and clothes for the baby.
To which Zhou replied: “Your Worship, I can only afford to pay $30 (N9.5k) per month because l’m unemployed. I survive through assisting builders (daka boy). My other children are at school and l am supposed to pay their school fees as well as buying clothes for them.”
The magistrate made the decision that Zhou should pay $30 (N9.5k) every month to the mother of the child until the child reaches the age of 18.
