The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) recently rescued Taiwo Momoh, a textile trader who wanted to end her life by jumping into the Lagos lagoon from the Third Mainland Bridge.

Momoh has gotten a grip of herself, life goes on for the textile trader.

The 58-year-old woman was about plunging into the water when the operatives of the Lagos state police command stopped her and prevented her from doing so.

Being in neck deep in debt had frustrated her to the point of her taking life. The woman had a chat with Lagos state commissioner of police, Fatai Owoseni, after she was rescued. She revealed that the money she owed her Swiss textile dealers made her want to die.

Momoh narrated how her ordeal started in 2015. A bureau de change dealer had taken off with the N18.7m she wanted to use for a foreign transaction. The woman explained that her trials doubled when robbers invaded her shop in Lagos Island and stole the textiles she had left.

The 58-year-old woman narrated her ordeal after she was rescued.

The textile dealer also revealed that her son abandoned her when she was faced with these challenges and this made her change her religion. She converted from Islam to Christianity in hope that she would be helped.

When no help came from the Redeem Christian Church of God parish that she joined, she thought it would be better to take her life and end the misery. But for the timely intervention of the police officers, she would have been dead by now.

Taiwo Momoh, the 58-year-old woman who thought life was not worth living few weeks ago.
