The 85-year-old woman, Mrs. Bolaji Isaac, who cried out about how her five children abandoned her, is dead.
The Punch reports that the octogenarian died on Wednesday, April 5, at the Lagos Island General Hospital, where she had been receiving treatment. Recall that she was taken to the Old People’s Home in Yaba by the Lagos state government.
NAIJ.com had also reported that Mrs. Bolaji had been putting up with a friend, Mrs. Sadatu Ahmed, after she claimed her children abandoned her. All these and more made the Ondo state indigene wish she was dead. She also went on to point particularly at one of her children, Samuel, a lawyer, saying he did not pick her calls and had refused to let her know where he stays. She also added that another child chased her out of an apartment rented for her by a Pentecostal church.
Reacting to his mother's claims, Samuel had said his mother was troublesome, adding that she always fought with her children’s wives. The state government had, however, taken her to the Old People’s Home, from where she was taken to the general hospital for treatment.
She was receiving treatment at the hospital when she died around 11pm on the said day. The matron of the Old People’s Home, Caroline Imesidion, confirmed the incident.
She noted that her family members had been informed. Samuel, who also confirmed the development, said he was at peace because he was able to reconcile with his mother before she died. He also said a befitting burial is in pipeline for his mother.
