- Following the news of the Festac Town resident who jumped into the river, new facts have emerged
- The young man whose identity has been disclosed left notes on his social media page
Following the report made about Bayo Ahmed Lawal, a Festac Town resident who jumped into the river yesterday, Saturday April 8, details which add clarity to the issue have been discovered.
The young man graduated from Industrial and Applied Chemistry department in University of Ilorin, Kwara state. The young man was in the company of friends before the ugly incident happened.
NAIJ.com gathered that he laid on the floor near Mobil filling station and his friends urged him to get up. On responding to this, he got up, took a few steps away from them and broke into a run while heading for the bridge.
His friends tried running after him but before they could catch up with him, he had jumped into the canal. From the look of things, it does appear the young man had psychological problems from the last tweets he made on his social media page:
From all indications, the young man alerted the world of what he was about to do a long time ago and no one really took note of it. His Twitter page is filled with tweets talking about his plan in bits and pieces. This is really pathetic.
Some social media users could not get to terms with the fact that a graduate would deliberately try to kill himself:
1. Suggestion for the public
2. A sensitive issue raised
NAIJ.com finds it sad that such a young man took a drastic step as this. For as many that want to live, life goes on. Watch the video of the female mechanic in Abuja:
