- A dealer has released pictures of a 5 shillings Biafra banknote put up for auction
- The closing date for the auction is stated for April 10, 2017
A 5-shillings Biafra banknote has been put up for auction. The start price is stated for N6000 as put up by a licensed dealer in collectables who is a member of the New Zealand stamp dealers association.
The auctioned note was offered for sale by one John R. Eccles of Wellington. The potential buyers of the note are being promised a good deal as the 1967 banknote could be returned if not in good shape.
Also, the buyers are guaranteed a refund if not satisfied by the purchase at the end of the day. On checking the point where the auction was listed, no order seemed to have been placed as the starting price had not changed.
Prior to this, a biafran coin was auctioned for N46,000; the coin was then said to be more valuable than the Nigerian Naira which was crashing against dollar then.
