- Two expatriates and a school proprietor have been reported kidnapped by unknown gunmen
- The school proprietor of Sure Polytechnic In Akwa Ibom was part of those kidnapped
Dr Idongesit Udom who is the proprietor of Sure Polytechnic and a former Mobil staff was kidnapped on Sunday, April 9 while he was worshipping in a church.
NAIJ.com gathered that the school owner was in Ukanafun, his home town when the ugly incident happened. Prior to this, two expatriates were abducted from their hotel rooms in Eket , Eket local government area of the state that same day.
ASP Chukwu Okechukwu, the spokesperson for the Akwa Ibom police command, confirmed the incident saying the police have started looking into the abduction. He revealed that there are no information on the identities of the expatriates. Their nationalities and workplace are not yet known.
"We are aware of the incidents. I am assuring you that efforts are on top gear to secure them. As I am talking to you, the Commissioner of Police and some senior police officers are on ground at Eket and its environs searching for the expatriates and even the man from Ukanafun" said Okechukwu.
