A 33-year-old man, Jared McLemore, has died after he set himself on fire while live streaming on Facebook.
The young man reportedly doused himself in kerosene, lit a lighter in his hand and set himself on fire while recording a live video on Facebook.
McLemore had committed the horrifying act at a bar known as Murphy’s Bar in Midtown Memphis, Tennessee, on Saturday, May 15.
NAIJ.com gathered that McLemore allegedly erupted in flames right in front of several people who were left horrified, including his ex-girlfriend who works at the bar.
According to the police, the deceased was discovered severely burned when they arrived on the scene of the tragic incident.
A witness expressed that McLemore was screaming uncontrollably after he set himself on fire.
“This gentleman comes running into the room on fire screaming incomprehensibly.”
Witnesses said most of the crowd initially thought it was a joke while others tried to help him put out the fire.
A Good Samaritan, who tried to help suffered burns after he tried to take away the lighter from McLemore.
According to McLemore’s ex-girlfriend, Alyssa Moore, the deceased had a history of domestic violence and he once threatened to kill her.
