With how swiftly jungle justice is administered to suspected thieves in Nigeria and Africa as a whole, these two young men were lucky to have escaped with their lives.
According to reports, the men who were part of a suspected 3-man gang who allegedly specialized in terrorising motorcyclists along the Ogbaku - Ubomiri -Ifakala -Umunoha axis of Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state were caught in the act.
According to Facebook user IfeanyiCy Njoku, an angry crowd proceeded to give them the beating of their lives and were about to set them on fire before they were rescued by the police.
One of the thieves was not so lucky as he died before the police rescue team got to them. The other two were stripped and had piles of dried grass heaped on them and would have been lynched if the police didn't show up when they did.
An eyewitness said the villagers had even gone as far as forming vigilante groups to defend themselves from the robbers due to the frequency of the gang's attacks.
