- This man credits his mother for his success in school
- And he did not waste time telling her out loud
- His inspiring words moved many on social media
Eunique Jones’ “Because of Them, We Can” positive-attitude web page has published yet another great uplifting story of a young college graduate.
20-year-old Joshua Franklin graduated from Morehouse College on May 21, and his heart-felt words were directed at his mother.
Franklin credits all his achievements to her lifelong effort. "This was entirely for you Mom. I'm not one for much words, but BELIEVE ME, you are my real inspiration,” he told her.
“Because of Them, We Can” was there to capture Franklin’s words. He went on to thank his mom for all he had given her. “You LITERALLY … have altered your entire life goals, aspirations, and path, so that I could have as many opportunities as possible.”
The young man, who will start law school in the fall, went on to say that the best way to thank her mother was to keep on working. “And I'm not done yet. I love you Mom. I'm honored that … I made you a Proud Parent of a Morehouse Man."
The “Because of Them, We Can” project promotes uplifting cases of accomplishments from people of color, looking to shed stereotypes regarding black folks around the world.
The accompanying hashtags on the “Because of Them, We Can” Facebook post were totally in tune with Franklin's special moment with his mom: #mommonday, #blackexcellence and #becauseofthemwecan.
The post went viral, with many shares, likes and comments. “ I need a tissue for this one. ❤️. ❤️BEAUTIFUL!!!! ❤️ ❤️Congratulations sir! I know you'll do well in law school,” a follower wrote.
Franklin’s words towards his mother were completely inspiring, no doubt about that!
