Drama as pastor prevents wife’s burial in Kwara state

There was chaos recently at Oke-Andi area of Ilorin in Kwara state when an Abuja-based Redeemed Christian Church of God pastor, Jacob Oyedepo, allegedly used ‘bouncers’ to pursue away friends and family members who gathered to bury his wife.

New Telegraph reports that the 45-year-old Christiana Adetola Oyedepo died on May 2, after battling a sickness for about three months.

The unusual incident got many talking and wondering why a pastor would take such a step over a woman that was married to him for 17 years and had four kids for him before she died.

Reports were that the pastor had attempted to sell the uncompleted property that the wife was to be buried in and was concerned that burying his wife on the site would discourage prospective buyers from the property.

Family members claimed that his late wife had embarked on the project with loans she obtained from a cooperative society which she was still servicing till she died.
