A woman in Baltimore, US, has shared her inspirational story of how she overcame cervical cancer and surgeries to graduate as an attorney.
Chanel White shared her story on social media. She resolved at the age of 34 to pursue her dream to becoming an attorney. Although she struggled through law school she never gave up.

In her story law school was full of ups and downs. During her first semester, two days before finals, she was diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer and did terrible on exams that semester.
Chanel revealed that both she and her husband had to undergo multiple surgeries. Due to the difficulties she faced, her academic advisor even suggested that she should drop out. However, she was determined and she persevered through her health challenges.
Chanel went on to excel and to achieve several feats. This included winning the Nelson Mandela International Negotiations Competition and being voted as the Community Service Award Recipient. In her third year at law school, her all female team also won the regional Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition.
She said: "I took so long to follow my dream because I listened to so many others who did not follow their dream tell me I couldn't do it. I decided then that I wouldn't let anyone else decide what I was capable of achieving. Now, finally, I received my J.D.! It's never too late to do what you were destined to do!"
