Couple uses baby to distract elderly man as they rob him in an elevator (photos, video)

Police officers in New Orleans are currently on the search of a couple who were caught on camera stealing from an elderly man in an elevator.

The Mirror UK reported that the CCTV camera in an elevator caught the couple trying to distract the elderly man with the 10-month-old baby while in a hotel in French Quarter, New Orleans.

The police further revealed that the woman’s husband was seen carrying the baby while the man pretended to be seriously ill and fell on the elderly man. In the process, he got hold of the man’s wallet but later returned it to the front desk as $400 (N146,800) was declared missing.

However, the incident took place on Wednesday, June 14, at the hotel but the police just released full footage so people can help identify the suspects.

The couple when found will be charged with suspicion of robbery and cruelty to an infant.
