- A Nigerian man has been arrested in Cambodia

- He was arrested for overstaying his visa for five months

A 37-year-old Nigerian teacher identified as Modestus Onwuliri has been arrested for overstaying his visa.

The young man who is a teacher at a private school was arrested on Monday, August 8, at Borei village, Snoul district.

Onwuliri was detained by the Kandal police in Cambodia for overstaying his visa by five months.

In Cambodia, the penalty for overstaying a visa date without requesting a vis extension is payment of ten dollars per day for over thirty days.

However, in the case of the teacher who stayed more than thirty days the penalty is imprisonment, deportation or future ban from entering the country.
