27-year-old Nigerian student bags PhD in Netherlands (photos)

A 27-year-old Nigerian man has bagged a doctorate degree from the University of Twente, Enschede in the Netherlands.

The young man identified as Eugene Ikejemba bagged his PhD degree in two and half years.

NAIJ.com gathered that Ikejemba published seven scientific articles in high ranked journals while he was doing his PhD.

Ikejemba’s research was focused on enhancing sustainable development in Sub-Saharan Africa. His interest in Sub-Saharan development came to life after he spoke to people who were without power for 6 months in Nigeria.

In his articles, he researched reasons why so many projects fail in the energy sector in countries like Nigeria, Ghana, Malawi and Kenya.

His work is currently being used in the implementation of renewable energy projects across multiple countries in Sub-Sahara Africa.

The young man plans to continue to focus on the work of sustainable development in Africa by developing solutions to the issues of lack of power, job creation and migrations of Africans.

Ikejemeba obtained his bachelor degrees in both Computer Science and Industrial Engineering with a 4.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in both South Africa and Cyprus.
