The national coordinator of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) Otunba Gani Adams stunned many with his large heart the unique way he chose to celebrate the 2017 World Humanitarian Day.

The Yoruba cultural and traditional ambassador through the Gani Adams Foundation held a programmme on Saturday, August 19, 2017 to commemorate the global celebration which was the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly in 2008.

With the theme ‘Protection of Civilians’, the event was chaired by the former commissioner of health in Ogun state, Dr. Kunle lziaq Salako.

Otunba (Dr.) Gani Adams who was recently conferred with the chieftaincy title of Agba'kin of Osogboland was represented by the senior programme manager of the foundation, Deacon Obatungashe Israel Adebayo and Olumide Ojelade.

Faces as Gani Adams Foundation marks World Humanitarian Day

Obatungashe in his message said Otunba Gani Adams reiterated his commitment and determination to always be responsive to the plight of less privileged in the society. He informed the gathering that, the foundation spent over four million naira every year on various empowerments towards total eradication of poverty in our society. He therefore, called on government to be more responsible in its statutory duties in providing basic needs for her people.

A well-researched and thought provoking paper was presented by Barrister Ahmed Dada Abass.

The high point of the occasion was the presentation of food and gift items worth over N2million to some orphanage homes. Among the beneficiaries were S.O.S Children's Village, lsolo; Royal Diamond Home, Ojodu; Red Cross, lkeja; among others.
