The best graduating student from the college of medicine in UNN who received N10,000 prize for excellent academic performance has finally been given something better.
NAIJ.com earlier reported that the best graduating student of the college of medicine in University of Nigeria, Nsukka got the said amount as prize for her academic performance.
The photo of the young lady being presented with the prize went viral and hit Nigerians wrongly. Many people frowned at the prize as they felt it was not befitting at all.
This issue sparked a hot debate among some people who felt the Nigerian government has misplaced priorities judging by the fact that academic excellence is not getting the attention it ought to get.
While the issue was being wildly debated, the amount offered to the winner of Big Brother Naija reality show came into the picture. Nigerians compared these events as various opinions were aired.
Ndaman Joshua Olayinka, a Facebook user informed NAIJ.com about the latest development concerning the issue. Dr Ikekpeazu Chidinma was offered N500,000 as compensation by KBK Foundation, a philanthropist.
